July Animal Outing Take 2

Animal Outing Take 2

Once I got started with the Animal Outing Bundle, ideas poured in.  It's such a cute, fun set.  The animals are adorable; the sentiments are so complementarty to the images.

So for this card with the Animal Outing Bundle, I had to do something with the Rhinoceros.  Since I love to color, I pulled out my Stampin' Blends and this is what happened.

Outside

The card base is Shaded Spruce.  The Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper is layered over the card base. A small piece of Berry Burst is diecut with the leaf decorative die from the Animal Friends Thinlits and layered over another piece of the Animal Expedition DSP.  The sentiment and rhinoceros are stamped with Memento.  The rhinerceros is colored with the Light and Dark Smoky Slate Blends, and the bird is colored with the Rich Razzleberry Blend.  The birds beak is colored with the Dark Crushed Curry Blend.

The inside of the card is matted with Berry Burst, topped with Whisper White and decorated with a leftover piece of the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper.

July - Animal Outing Together We Make A Great Pair

Animal Outing

It took me a while to think up what I might do with the Animal Outing bundle, but once I got started with it, ideas poured in.  Here's one of my first cards with this bundle

Outside

These adorable giraffes are just wandering thru the jungle, and the sentiment is just perfect.

The card base is Early Espresso.  Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper is used to create the jungle.  The Playful Pennants die creates the zig zag of the jungle undergrowth.

The giraffes are stamped on Crumb Cake and die cut with the Animal Friends Thinlits.

The sentiment is stamped on Whisper White cut out with one of the Layering Squares and matted on the next size larger Layering Square cut out in Crumb Cake

Inside

The inside of the card shows the two giraffes sauntering through the jungle stamped on Whisper White, matted on Crumb Cake, and adhered to the inside of the card base

Christmas Joy

As Christmas in July approached, visions of Merry Merlot danced in my head.  I thought and considered what can I make with Merry Merlot and Night in Bethlehem.  I sat at my craft table with my tools and supplies.  After a time, this is what my wondering eyes beheld:

Card Front:

The Large Letter Framelits were used to cut out the J and Y.  I used two of the Layering Circles dies to make the O.  A larger circle with a smaller circle inside of it.  I stamped the star in Merry Merlot on the smaller circle.  I stamped the smaller stars on the cutout card front with Night of Navy stamping off first, then layered it onto a Merry Merlot Mat.  Use foam strips to pop up the J, circle with the star stamped, and Y.  Die cut the Bethlehem scene from Night of Navy, adhere to Whisper White.

Inside of Card:

Use Merry Merlot to stamp the sentiment.  Use Night of Navy to stamp the stars, stamping off first.  Mat Whisper White panel to Merry Merlot.  Die cut the image and adhere.  Adhere panel to inside of card.

Oh, wonder of wonder!  This is just how i envisioned it would be.  I love it when that happens!

Almost Heaven -- Land that I love

When I think of this great county, I think of the beauty of it.  I love the wide open spaces, the mountains, the rivers, and any chance I have to be outside.

Often, when I experience a creative block, I just take myself outside on my one lane country road and walk.  While I walk and look at the trees, the meadows, and they sky, the creativity comes alive in me again.

So, in tribute to this great and beautiful country, I am sharing with you my card to celebrate USA.

I've had this image in my head for a week or so, but I have to admit that when I attempted to make it come to life, I needed a couple tries to get the colors and the placement to satisfy me.

This card uses the Bokeh Dots Stars image in Blueberry Bushel for the stars part of the flag image.

The stripe is created in Lovely Lipstick from an image in the Stitched all
Around stamp set.  The mountains, trees, grass, and water are all from the Waterfront stamp.  The mountains are Smokey Slate, the grass is Soft Seafoam, the trees are Tranquil Tide, the water is Pool Party.  The sun is Mango Melody.

I stamped the Waterfront scene first.  All images from the Waterfront set were stamped off first.  Then, the flag was stamped full strength over top of scene.

I did add some Smokey Slate birds in the sky from the High Tide set.  And since this is to celebrate the land that I love, I put two foil hearts in the upper left corner.

I can use this card to celebrate any of the many early July birthdays in my family.  How would you use it?
